My goal is to make this experience as seamless and enjoyable as possible for you, and that includes being clear, fair, and transparent about the terms we’ll both be working with.
I believe in mutual respect, and while I always strive to be flexible and accommodating to your needs, I also kindly ask that you respect my time and the terms outlined here.
1. Booking and Cancellation Policy
All bookings for lifestyle photo shoots, including but not limited to maternity and family sessions, must be confirmed with a non-refundable deposit. This deposit secures your date and time.
Clients are allowed to reschedule their photo shoot once without any additional charges, provided the request is made at least 24 hours in advance.
2. Usage period of Photo Shoot Bookings for Lifestyle Photoshoot (Weddings excluded)
Please note that once your lifestyle photoshoot is booked and a deposit is made, the booking must be utilized with a reasonable 1 year time frame. For example, if you book a family photoshoot in May 2021 and you cancel it, you cannot reschedule the same booking for three years later.
Special Circumstances: If you need to extend the validity of your booking beyond one year due to special circumstances, please contact us as soon as possible. Extensions may be granted at our discretion.
3. Image Rights
The photographer retains the copyright to all images and reserves the right to use them for promotional purposes unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
4. Refund Policy
All deposits are non-refundable. Payments for completed services are also non-refundable,
I am fully committed to fulfilling my obligation. However, in the unlikely event of an extreme emergency that prevents me from attending your photoshoot, I will:
Make every effort to find a replacement photographer with a similar style and skill level or refund all payments made in full.
5. Late Arrivals for Lifestyle Photoshoots (Family, maternity, newborn sessions etc) & Events
Kindly arrive on time for your photoshoot. For beach photoshoots we start early to get the best light. If you do run late between 10-20 minutes, please note this will affect the quantity of images you receive.
If you are later than 30 minutes for a photoshoot, the photoshoot will be cancelled, and you will need to rebook your photoshoot with a late arrival fee of R250 to cover time & travel costs.
If an event starts later than the agreed coverage time, no refunds will be issued, and your coverage time will not be extended.
Example: Booking for a 2pm-4pm coverage and you arrivie at your own event at 3pm.
6. Coverage & Quantity of Images
The number of images delivered is contingent upon the smooth running of the event as scheduled.
If there are delays or interruptions caused by circumstances outside of my control, including but not limited to, late arrival of vendors (such as makeup artists, hairstylists, or event coordinators), venue restrictions, weather conditions, or unforeseen delays caused by the client or their guests, Aurelia Photography cannot guarantee the specified number of images. Such delays or interruptions may result in fewer images being taken and/or delivered. I will make every reasonable effort to adapt to changing circumstances, but the final number of images provided will reflect the time available for photography during the event.
Coverage Time
The package duration begins upon my arrival at the agreed start time and runs consecutively. For example, if coverage is set to begin at 10:00 AM to capture the bride and bridal party getting ready, the package end time will be 4:00 PM for a 6-hour package. Coverage cannot be split into separate time blocks or paused for any reason. Please ensure your timeline is planned accordingly to include all desired moments within the package duration.
7. Please don’t ask for RAW or Unedited Images
Please note I strictly do not give out my raw images or your full gallery (every image taken on the day of your photoshoot) as part of my commitment to delivering high-quality work, I carefully select the best images from your session. The final number of images you receive will be discussed and agreed prior to your photoshoot.
8. Re-editing of your Gallery
If, after receiving your gallery, you request a re-edit of your photoshoot (such as altering the style from brighter to moodier, adjusting colour saturation, removing pimples, removing a bra strap etc.), a re-editing fee of R500 per hour (I will let you know how long your request takes) will apply. Re-editing is a time-consuming process, and this fee ensures the dedication and care required to meet your new vision. Please make sure you are familiar with and appreciate my unique style of photography when booking. as an experienced artist, i have developed a distinct approach that reflects my creative vision and expertise. i take great care in editing to present the best version of your photos, and i hope you’ll trust my artistic judgment.
9. Evening Travel & Accommodation Safety Policy
For weddings and events that extend beyond 18:000 pm, accommodation will need to be provided for 2 persons sharing (myself and my second shooter.)
This provision is implemented to ensure the safety of our photography team (and our valuable equipment) during travel at night. Please note you are more than welcome to choose the accommodation (ideally within a 5km distance from your wedding venue) or I can find an accommodation for you with a budget that does not exceed R1000 in total for accommodation booking a photo shoot with us.
10. Travel Costs
Travel to Umdloti, Umhlanga, La Lucia, and Durban North will also be included at no extra cost.
For locations beyond these areas, travel will be charged at R5 per kilometer from Umdloti.
Please note R5 per km covers fuel price, vehicle wear and tear and time spent traveling.
11. Breaks & Meals for Extended Coverage
For events lasting 3 hours or more, my assistant and I will take a 15-minute break for water.
For events exceeding 6 hours, we kindly ask that a meal be provided at the same time as your guests. This allows us to recharge without missing key moments, ensuring we continue capturing your event seamlessly
12. Grace Period and Overtime Charges for Events, Weddings & Vow Renewals.
Grace Period:
I completely understand that events can sometimes run a little behind schedule! That’s why I offer a 15-minute grace period beyond your booked time at no additional charge. This allows for any small delays or last-minute moments you may want to capture without feeling rushed.
Overtime Charges:
If your event runs a bit longer than expected beyond the grace period, I’m happy to stay and keep capturing those special moments. Overtime will be charged at R1,100 for every additional 30 minutes (or part thereof). This ensures we can keep the flow going smoothly while still honoring the time and effort dedicated to your day.

Final Invoice:
After your event, I will send over an invoice with the details of any overtime, if applicable. My goal is to make sure everything is seamless and transparent so you can enjoy the memories without worry
I will always let you know when we’re approaching the end of your coverage time and check in with you to see if you'd like to wrap up or continue with overtime—so you never have to worry about time on your special day
Frequently Asked Questions
What do we wear for the lifestyle photos?
Looking at my previous sessions or Pinterest is a great place to draw inspiration for what to wear. Bring a few outfit options if you are not sure, I do request NO big brand names and simple matching outfits please.
What if I need to cancel?
The deposit is non refundable, unfortunately we book the date for you and close that date for any other clients. You are more than welcome to cancel within 24 hours’ notice and reschedule for another date.
What if the weather is bad?
If the weather forecast predicts rain or very strong winds on the day of your photoshoot, the session will be canceled and moved to another date. This policy applies to all shoots, no exceptions, as the safety of both the equipment and the experience is my top priority.
Obviously, this does not include weddings, which will proceed as planned unless otherwise specified.
However, for couples who are open to the adventure of a rainy or windy shoot (No thundershowers or storm prediction), I’m happy to proceed with the session, as these conditions can create some truly stunning photos. Please note that if you choose to go ahead with a shoot in adverse weather, my assistant will need to accompany us to hold an umbrella and ensure the safety of my equipment. There will be an additional charge of R500 for this assistance.
For all other types of sessions, including maternity and family shoots, if the weather forecast is showing rain or very strong winds, we will need to reschedule.
What equipment do you use?
At the moment I shoot with Canon.
Do you give out RAW images?
No I don’t, editing is a huge part of the creative process. I promise to give you all the memories you would want.
Can you photoshop me?
I can clear skin, remove pimples and enhance features but I don’t make your bodies look different. I focus on capturing your natural beauty.
What do you need from us before our wedding day?
The schedule for your wedding day and a list of the people's names you would like in your family photos.
How do I book for my wedding or a lifestyle shoot?
Booking & Payment Terms for Lifestyle Photoshoots:
A 50% deposit is required to book your date, remainder of payment day of photoshoot.
Booking & Payment Terms for Weddings:
To secure your booking, a 25% deposit is required at the time of booking.. The remaining balance can be paid through flexible monthly payment plans, making your payment experience as easy and manageable as possible.
All payments must be fully completed at least 1 week before your wedding.
When will we get our photos?
For weddings you will receive your images approximatly 6-8 weeks after your wedding, delivery of wedding albums excluded. Lifestyle images will take around 2 weeks.
